Bull & Bear Tavr'n & Table | Our Story

Born in Westchase, built for regulars
Bull & Bear Tavr'n & Table is where cold pints, hearty food, and Houston sports all land in the same room. Come in once — you'll be back.
A spot on Westheimer
Bull & Bear opened on Westheimer with a simple premise: great food, honest beer, and a staff that gives a damn. No pretense — just a real neighborhood pub for a neighborhood that was ready for one.
Two traditions, one kitchen
The menu bridges two worlds — classic American bar fare alongside proudly British pub staples. Shepherd's pie, lamb shank, fish and chips on newspaper paper: this kitchen takes pub food seriously.

The dishes people talk about
The Scotch egg earned a Houston Press feature. The bacon croquettes became the word-of-mouth dish every regular insists first-timers order. The steak with herb butter and mash doesn't hurt either.
Electric on game nights, great on quiet Tuesdays
When the Texans, Rockets, or Astros are on, every screen is locked in and the crowd is fully invested. It's just as good on a slow Tuesday — the real test of any pub.
What Houston Press noticed
Houston Press named Bull & Bear one of Westchase's top ten and one of Houston's best sports bars for food — and called it "an outpost of civility." Cold beer under five dollars will do that.
